SPIRITUAL GROWTH GROUP
This pre Easter time is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem, and their experiences of faith. Take a look at Scripture with fellow Christians to better understand the disciples. Growing our faith takes commitment to study the Scriptures, pray and reflect how our faith and Christian values can impact the situations in our daily life. It makes a big difference to be aware of our relationship with God, and we grow in this by strengthening each other in our faith. We will be meeting on Thursday June 17th at 6:45 p.m.
Explore with us how faith helps us in our everyday life, our challenges, joys and concerns. Experience God’s love and power through prayer. Pastor Ingrid will facilitate the group and share resources and materials that can be used in daily devotions.
BOOK CLUB
The third Sunday at 10:40 a.m. (Back tables in fellowship hall) Join us to find out what participants of Montrose United Methodist church are reading which includes nonfiction and fiction. If you would like to highlight a book you are reading and can’t be there, please let Pastor Ingrid know so it can be included in next month’s newsletter. Tod Ovall and Many Folkestad are our facilitators.
MOVIE NIGHT
Movie night is a great time of fellowship and opportunity to invite neighbors and friends. Count on a current movie that is free and free popcorn and being with a wonderful group of people. A children’s movie plays in a room adjacent to our large education room. Count on good fellowship, interesting handout about the movie, and a discussion that helps us think about our faith in light of our culture.
The July movie will be Friday, July 9th, at 7:00 p.m.
The featured film is: THE BLIND SIDE
This is a family movie of very high quality. It is about a well off conservative family that takes in a homeless teen and gives him the support to change his life. The experience changes the family in ways that inspire us. The development of the children in the movie is worth watching. The story about this homeless teen is based on a true story of how he becomes a star athlete picked by the NFL. Sandra Bullock stars as the mother.
