Historically has stood on issues such as slavery, humane treatment of workers, health care, started hospitals and shelters for children and elderly. Founded Goodwill Industries in 1902.

Immediate response to emergencies. For example has had a strong presence in Haiti for many years and is in a position to use 100 percent of donations for Haiti for relief and not administration.

Local ministry to those in need with kitchen ministry, food ministry, a home for AA, Boy Scouts,
